A month after its theatrical release on June 13, the Dileesh Pothan-Roshan Mathew film Ronth is set for its digital premiere. The film will start streaming on JioHotstar from July 22. Besides Malayalam, it will also be available in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada.

Ronth is written and directed by Shahi Kabir, his second directorial after Ela Veezha Poonchira, for which he won the Kerala State award for best debutant director. Shahi also scripted Joseph, Nayattu, and Officer on Duty.

Like Shahi's previous films, Ronth is also about policemen and their traumatic lives. It revolves around a seasoned cop (Dileesh) and a rookie (Roshan), who are on night patrolling duty. The narrative is spun around the ideological differences between the two, along with some hard-hitting socio-political commentary. During its theatrical run, the film garnered largely positive reviews, with particular praise for the performance of the two lead actors.

Ronth also features Arun Cherukavil, Lakshmi Menon, Krisha Kurup, and Jithin Puthenchery in prominent roles. The film has music by Anil Johnson, cinematography by Manesh Madhavan, and editing by Praveen Mangalath. It is jointly produced by Vineeth Jain, Rathish Ambat, Renjith EVM, and Jojo Jose under the banners of Festival Cinemas and Junglee Pictures.
