Jakes Bejoy will compose the music for the Naslen-starrer Mollywood Times, helmed by Mukundan Unni Associates director Abhinav Sunder Nayak. The announcement was made on Thursday by Abhinav through social media by posting a picture of himself alongside Jakes. The film is scripted by Ramu Sunil, who made his debut earlier this year with co-writing Rekhachithram.

As previously reported, Mollywood Times is set to begin shooting on August 1. The film was initially announced in 2024 with the tagline "A Hate Letter to Cinema," sparking speculation that the film would focus on the Malayalam film industry; however, the makers have yet to confirm it. Further details about the extended cast and technical team are expected to be disclosed in the coming days. The film is produced by Ashiq Usman under his namesake banner.

Jakes is currently enjoying a strong run, having scored three consecutive hits this year with Kuchacko Boban's Officer On Duty, Mohanlal's Thudarum and Tovino Thomas' Narivetta. He is also set to compose music for high-profile upcoming projects, including Naslen-Kalyani Priyadarshan's Lokah – Chapter One: Chandra, Prithviraj Sukumaran's Vilayath Buddha and Dulquer Salmaan's I’m Game.

Meanwhile, Naslen was recently seen filming for the Asif Ali-starrer Tiki Taka, directed by Kala filmmaker Rohith VS.
