Noted writer Unni R has joined the team of Antony Varghese's upcoming actioner Kattalan. He will be penning dialogues for the film, which is expected to go on floors soon.

Unni is best known for scripting films like Munnariyippu, Charlie, Leela, as well as writing dialogues for Big B, Awar, Bachelor Party, and Chaappa Kurishu. He last scripted the Aashiq Abu-Tovino Thomas film Naaradhan.

Kattalan, directed by debutant Paul George, is billed as a wild action thriller centred on ivory smuggling. The film's cast includes Rajisha Vijayan, Kabir Singh Duhan, Jagadish, Telugu actor Sunil and popular rapper Baby Jean.

Cinematographer Renadive, editor Shameer Muhammed, and composer B Ajaneesh Loknath, of Kantara fame, comprise the core technical team. It is backed by Shareef Muhammed of Cubes Entertainments, who debuted with Marco. The film, which is yet to go on floors, is planned to be released in five languages—Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.
