It is already known that 2024's blockbuster rom-com Premalu is getting a sequel. Dileesh Pothan, one of the producers who head Bhavana Studios, confirmed in a recent interview that the sequel's shooting will begin by the mid of June 2025. He shared that scripting works have been completed and the team is now busy with finalising the locations and other pre-production work. He also added that they are eyeing release by the end of this year.

Premalu, directed by Girish AD, starred Naslen and Mamitha Baiju as the leads. Upon its release last February, the film earned rave reviews from both critics and general audiences and emerged as a massive success. Subsequently, it was dubbed and released in Telugu and Tamil.

Premalu 2 will have Girish AD returning as the director, with Kiran Josey retained as the co-writer. The principal cast members, including Naslen, Mamitha Baiju, Sangeeth Prathap, and Akhila Bhargavan, will be returning for the sequel. More details are awaited.
