Aju Varghese is Sam Puthekkadan in Daveed

The Antony Varghese-starrer is set for February release

Aju Varghese plays a character named Sam Puthekkadan in Antony Varghese's upcoming film Daveed. The character poster was unveiled on Saturday as Aju celebrated his 40th birthday. Along with wishing Aju, Antony wrote on social media, "This year is extra special as we unveil his dynamic role as Sam Puthekkadan."

Earlier, Daveed's makers introduced the characters played by Vijayaraghavan, Lijomol Jose, Saiju Kurup, Bibin Perumbilly, and child actor Jess Kukku. The film, directed by Govind Vishnu, is a boxing-based actioner. Antony has gone through a physical transformation to play a boxer's role in the film. A bunch of martial artists are also part of the cast.

Daveed, produced by John and Mary Creative, Century Films, Maxlab and Panorama Studios, is eyeing a February release.

Aju Varghese, last seen as a cop in Identity, will soon start working on Indrajith's upcoming thriller Dheeram. Aju is also reuniting with Gaganachari director Arun Chandhu for Vala, a zombie film. The cast also includes Gokul Suresh, Anarkali Marikar, KB Ganesh Kumar, and Gokul’s brother Madhav Suresh.

Padakkuthira and Amos Alexander are the other films in Aju's lineup.
