The makers of Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming Malayalam film, tentatively titled D40, have announced that its title will be revealed on March 1 at 5 PM. Helmed by RDX director Nahas Hidhayath, the film's technical team includes King of Kotha composer Jakes Bejoy, Thallumaala cinematographer Jimshi Khalid and Manjummel Boys production designer Ajayan Challissery. It is produced by Dulquer's home banner Wayfarer Films.

While details regarding the plot and extended cast remain under wraps, reportedly Antony Varghese will play a significant role in the film alongside Dulquer. This upcoming venture marks Dulquer’s return to Malayalam cinema following the underwhelming performance of King of Kotha (2023).

In addition to D40, Dulquer has two other Malayalam films in the pipeline, including Parava filmmaker Soubin Shahir's next and another helmed by a debutant director. Outside Malayalam cinema, the Lucky Bhaskar actor is also working on Selvamani Selvaraj's Tamil period drama Kaantha and Pavan Sadineni's Telugu film Aakasam Lo Oka Tara.
