The makers of the Mohanlal-starrer L2: Empuraan have been releasing a video introducing a supporting character in the film each day over the last few weeks. In the latest announcement, Eriq Ebouaney has been introduced to the franchise as a negative character named Kabuga. Calling it an "international film," Eriq said, "It was an amazing experience to be part of this crew, those beautiful locations all over the world." The actor also highlighted the quality of the film in comparison to the projects he has been part of in Europe, Africa, and the USA. "This one was so mind-blowing," he said. Eriq also had high praise for producer Antony Perumbavoor of Aashirvad Cinemas.

Eriq Ebouaney recently played a key role in the The Walking Dead spinoff series The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol.

With L2: Empuraan, actor Prithviraj Sukumaran also returns as the director. The film also brings back the original cast that includes Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Indrajith Sukumaran, Saikumar, Nandu, Saniya Iyappan, Sshivada, Jaise Jose, and Baiju Santhosh.

Produced by Aashirvad Cinemas in association with Lyca Productions, the second instalment in the Luucifer franchise is set for a March 27 release in theatres.
