Last night, the makers of Tiki Taka dropped a new poster for the film, which has been in development for a long time now. It shows Asif Ali's character from behind with two massive tattoos on his back and with Wolverine-like claws. “Cold nights and hot steel. Slay bells will ring, not this Christmas but bloody soon,” reads the caption for the post, hinting at a 2026 release for the film. Directed by Rohit VS of Kala fame, the film marks Asif's departure into the action thriller genre following a recent string of whodunits and social dramas. Reportedly, his character in the film is a fighter with a never-give-up attitude. The film also stars Naslen, Lukman Avaran, Sanchana Natarajan, and Wamiqa Gabbi, among others. It brings Asif back together with his Adventures of Omanakuttan and Ibilis director.

T-Series Films, Vellmade Productions, Adventure Company, and Panorama Studios are backing Tiki Taka, which has a screenplay by Niyog based on a story by Packiaraj. The title refers to the football style, popularised by Barcelona Football Club and Spain's international team. Even the tagline for the film, “Heroes Pass the Ball,” serves as a nod to the game of football. However, it is worth noting that the film is billed as a big-budget actioner. Even the other recent posters hint at the massive scale of the film, especially one featuring silhouettes of characters with guns and other weapons. Asif has reportedly undergone a major physical transformation for the film.

On the technical front, the film has music by Ravi Basrur, cinematography by Sony Seban and editing by Chaman Chakko. The makers are yet to reveal plot specifics of the film and its release date.
