Earlier, we reported about the Ernakulam District and Sessions Court finding accused numbers one to six, including prime accused Pulsar Suni, guilty in the actor abduction and assault case. Earlier today, the court revealed its full judgment in the actor assault case. According to the judgement, the court has sentenced all the aforementioned accused for 20 years of imprisonment. Judge Honey M Varghese, who delivered the verdict the other day, said in the latest judgement that the six accused, also including Martin Antony, Manikandan B, Salim H, Pradeep, and Vijesh VP, do not have any prior criminal record. She also revealed that "sensationalism has no bearing on sentencing" in reference to a case that has long been a hot debate point among the public ever since the 2017 incident involving the actor.
The period of time that the accused served in jail during the pendency of the trial on will be considered to calculate the remainder of the time they will have to serve now. For example, Suni and Martin served around seven years of jail time, meaning they will need to spend approximately 13 additional years. Earlier, the sessions court acquitted Dileep in the case, alongside three others.
