A short glimpse of Vaazha 2 was released on Friday, marking the first release anniversary of its predecessor, Vaazha. The video features popular social media talents Hashir, Alan Bin Siraj, Ajin Joy, and Vinayak, who were also part of Vaazha. While they were seen as loafers in their 20s in Vaazha, they appear as school students in the new promo. Filmmaker Alphonse Puthren also features in the glimpse video as a police officer.

Vaazha 2 is directed by debutant Savin SA and scripted by Vipin Das, who also wrote the previous film. The sequel stars a few other popular content creators like Ameen, Nihal Nizam, Nibraz Noushad, Shahubas, and Sabir. It has cinematography by Akhil Lailasuran, music by Ankit Menon, and editing by Kannan. Vipin Das, Harris Desom, P B Anish, Adarsh Narayan, and Icon Studios produce the film.

Vaazha, directed by Anand Menen, was a coming-of-age drama about a bunch of boys and their relationships with their fathers. Siju Sunny, Joemon Jyothir, Amith Mohan Rajeswari, Saaf, and Anuraj OB essayed the main roles in it. While the first part came with the tagline, 'biopic of a billion boys', it has been altered to 'biopic of a billion brothers' for the sequel.
