Shine Tom Chacko's The Protector is set to hit cinemas on May 16. The release announcement poster was officially unveiled by the makers on Tuesday. The film, scripted by Ajesh Antony, is directed by GM Manu. It is produced by Robins Mathew under the banner of Ambatt Films.

The earlier-released first-look poster of The Protector, featuring Shine with a lit cigarette, carried the Biblical verse, “Let him who is without sin cast the first stone”. The film also stars Thalaivaasal Vijay, Motta Rajendran, Sudheer Karamana, Manikuttan, Shivaji Guruvayoor, Boban Alumoodan, Unniraja, Dayana, Kajal Johnson, Devi Chandana, Shantha Kumari, and Seema Madhu. On the technical front, it has cinematography by Rajeesh Raman, editing by Thahir Hamsa, and music by Jinosh Antony.

Shine was recently seen in Khalid Rahman's Alappuzha Gymkhana, the Mammootty-starrer Bazooka and Ajith Kumar's Good Bad Ugly. All three films, featuring him in cameo roles, were released on April 10.
