On Sunday, the makers of Suraj Venjaramoodu and Sharafudheen's Padakkalam dropped the film’s first single, titled 'Chathuranga Poru'. The track, penned by Vinayak Sasikumar, has vocals by its composer Rajesh Murugesan (Premam) and rapper-actor Baby Jean.

Directed by debutant Manu Swaraj, Padakkalam is scheduled for a theatrical release on May 2. The film, jointly scripted by Manu and Nithin C Babu, also stars Sandeep Pradeep, Niranjana Anoop, Saaf, Arun Pradeep and Arun Ajikumar. The technical crew includes cinematographer Anu Moothedath and editor Nidhin Raj Arol. It is produced by Vijay Babu and Vijay Subramaniam under the banners of Friday Film House and 29 September Works.

Sharafudheen’s next release will be Pet Detective, directed by debutant Praneesh Vijayan, set to hit theatres on April 25. The actor is also producing the film, which features his Premam co-star Anupama Parameswaran as the female lead.

Suraj was last seen in the Mohanlal-starrer L2: Empuraan and Vikram’s Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2, both of which were released on March 27.
