Gumasthan trailer: Dileesh Pothan and Bibin George's film promises a gripping crime thriller

The trailer for Bibin George and Dileesh Pothan's Gumasthan was unveiled by the makers on Tuesday. The film, set to release in theatres on September 27, carries the tagline, 'A brutal criminal beyond the law.' The trailer opens with a voiceover by a man, asking, "Have you ever seen how a spider weaves its web to trap its prey?" This is followed by glimpses introducing us to Dileesh and Bibin's characters, alongside scenes of a police investigation, promising a gripping crime thriller. It is directed by Amal K Joby, who previously co-wrote K Madhu's Banking Hours 10 to 4 (2012).

Scripted by Riyas Izmath, Gumasthan also stars Jais Jose, Rony David Raj, Shaju Sreedhar, Azees Nedumangad, Alexander Prasanth, Sminu Shijo, Bindu Sajeev, and Neema Mathew, among others. The film's technical crew comprises cinematographer Kunjunni S Kumar, editor Ayoob Khan, and music director Stephan Devassy. It is produced by Muzafir Film Company.

Bibin was previously seen in the Vedikettu (2023), which he also jointly helmed and penned along with his regular collaborator Vishnu Unnikrishnan.

Dileesh's upcoming slate includes Aashiq Abu's Rifle Club and Boban Samuel's Machante Maalakha. While the former is headlined by him, the latter features Soubin Shahir, Dhyan Sreenivasan, and Namitha Pramod in the lead roles.
