The makers of Kuttante Shinigami, headlined by Indrans and Jaffer Idukki, revealed that the film will be released on September 20. Reportedly, the film is centred around the concept of Shinigami, a supernatural entity from Japanese folklore that is said to follow a living being. It marks the directorial debut of Rasheed Parakkal, who previously penned films like Sameer (2020) and Pine Marangalude Nattil (2023).

The technical crew of Kuttante Shinigami includes cinematographer Shihab Ongallur, editor Zian Sreekanth and music director Arjun V Akshaya. The film also features Sunil Sukhada, Sreejith Ravi, Sumesh Moor, Munshi Ranjith, Unni Raja, Sinoj Varghese and Arya Viju, among others. It is produced by Asharaf Pilakkal, who has previously backed films such as Moonnaam Naal (2015) and Hello Dubaikkaran (2017).

Notably, Indrans and Jaffer Idukki are also headlining Oru Pokkan, directed by Hari Narayanan KM. The film, jointly scripted by Gopinathan Panjal and Sujeesh Mon ES, completed its shooting earlier this year.
