Ahead of its release on October 24, Joju George's directorial debut Pani has garnered positive feedback on social media from notable film personalities, including Anurag Kashyap, Karthik Subbaraj, and Santhosh Narayanan. Notably, Joju is part of Anurag's next directorial and the upcoming Suriya-starrer Suriya 44, helmed by Karthik.

Anurag described Pani as a “powerful thriller/drama” that is both shocking and surprising, likening its quality to that of Korean new-wave cinema. The director-actor remarked on George's confident direction, suggesting it could appeal to a wide audience. Karthik also weighed in, calling Pani a gripping action thriller with intense performances. The Jigarthanda director expressed optimism about its potential success in theatres, stating, "It’s going to be a blast." Santhosh shared his thoughts after watching the film, saying he was "blown away" by the experience. The composer also noted his involvement in composing a song and a few themes for the upcoming film.

Joju himself is playing the lead in Pani, billed as an action-heavy revenge thriller. The lead cast also includes Abhinaya and former Bigg Boss contestants Sagar Surya and Junaiz. Besides Malayalam, the film will also be dubbed in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada. However, it is not yet known if all five versions will be released on the same day.
