'Madhavettan's love and affection was akin to that of a father towards me,' Mohanlal's heartfelt note on the late TP Madhavan

Earlier, we reported that veteran Malayalam actor TP Madhavan, best known for his performances in films released in the 1980s and 1990s, passed away on Wednesday. Following this, Mohanlal penned a heartfelt tribute on his Facebook handle to the late actor, with whom he shared the screen in various films.

Mohanlal reflected on collaborating with TP Madhavan on numerous films across different eras, including Uyarangalil, Sarvakalashala, Moonnam Mura, Ulladakkam, Pingami, Agnidevan, Narasimham, Ayal Kadha Ezhuthukayanu, Nadodikkattu, Vietnam Colony, Natturajavu, and Twenty 20, among many others. The actor also stated, “Madhavettan's love and affection were akin to that of a father towards me.” He went on to add, “Madhavettan, who was also the first general secretary of the Film Actors' Association, captured everyone's affection with his endearing smile.”

Madhavan was 88 years old when he passed away at a private hospital in Kollam, where he had been admitted in critical condition a few days earlier. He is survived by his children, Devika and Raja Krishna Menon, the latter being a Bollywood director known for helming the Akshay Kumar-starrer Airlift (2016).
