Vinayakan to lead Tom Emmatty's Perunnal

The film is backed by the director's own banner Emmatty Kampany and Jollywood Movies

Director Tom Emmatty, who debuted with Oru Mexican Aparatha, is set to direct a film with Vinayakan next. Titled Perunnal, the film, which is still in the initial stages, is backed by the director's own banner Emmatty Kampany and Jollywood Movies. The makers recently released a casting call looking for actors, both male and female. More details its genre, technical crew and commencement of shoot are expected to be out soon.

Two years after his debut in 2017, Tom Emmatty made The Gambler with Anson Paul. The director also announced a film titled Dhuniyavinte Orattathu with Sreenath Bhasi and Anu Sithara, but its current status remains unknown.

Vinayakan, last seen in Thekku Vadakku, alongside Suraj Venjaramoodu, recently wrapped up shooting for a film with Mammootty. Debutant Jithin K Jose is directing the film, which reportedly has Mammootty in a grey-shaded role. It is also the seventh production venture of the latter's Mammootty Kampany.
