Filming for Pathirathri, starring Navya Nair and Soubin Shahir in the lead, concluded on Wednesday. The film, which carries the tagline "One Night, Two Cops," marks the sophomore directorial venture of Ratheena, known for helming Mammootty’s critically acclaimed 2022 feature Puzhu.

Set against the backdrop of a village in Idukki, Pathirathri is billed as a police drama based on a true story. The film also features Sunny Wayne, Shabareesh Varma, and Ann Augustine in pivotal roles. Its screenplay is penned by Shaji Maraad, who previously co-wrote the acclaimed Ela Veezha Poonchira.

Pathirathri is backed by KV Abdul Nazer under the banner of Benzy Productions. As the tagline suggests, the film revolves around the events of a single night, focusing on two police officers. On the technical front, it has Bramayugam cinematographer Shehnad Jalal, editor Sreejith Sarang and composer Jakes Bejoy.

Meanwhile, Soubin awaits the release of Boban Samuel's Machante Maalakha, co-starring Namitha Pramod and Dhyan Sreenivasan. He also has debutant Sreeraj Sreenivasan's Praavinkoodu Shappu and an upcoming project by Sudani from Nigeria director Zakariya in the pipeline.

Navya, last seen in Aneesh Upasana’s Janaki Jaane, will next appear in the Suresh Gopi-starrer Varaaham.
