The film won Second Best Film at the 53rd Kerala State Film Awards

Sunny Wayne and Shine Tom Chacko's Adithattu (2022), which won Second Best Film at the 53rd Kerala State Film Awards, is finally set for its digital premiere on Manorama MAX and Prime Video on November 15. The film, written by Khais Millen, is directed by Jijo Antony, who previously helmed films such as Konthayum Poonoolum (2014), Darvinte Parinamam (2016) and Pokkiri Simon (2017).

Although Adithattu received widespread critical acclaim upon its theatrical release on July 1, 2022, it did not perform significantly at the box office. In addition to Sunny and Shine, the film also features V I S Jayapalan, Alexander Prasanth, Mullan Ani, Joseph Yesudas, Murugan Martine, and Sabumon Abdusamad. Produced by Susan Joseph and Sin Treesa, its technical team includes cinematographer Pappinu, editor Noufal Abdullah, and music director Nezer Ahemed.

An excerpt from the CE review of the film reads, "After I came out of the film, I told a friend that Adithattu is like a Rajeev Ravi film not made by Rajeev Ravi. Recently, Rajeev made what I called his purest film, Kuttavum Shikshayum, which was devoid of any commercial cinema trappings that would appeal to all sections of audiences. Adithattu, too, follows a similarly gritty, mood-based, and reportage-style narrative. But Adithattu has two principal advantages: a nail-biting third act and a 90-min duration."
