About a month after revealing her character's name in DNA, Raai Laxmi is gearing up for the release of the film that marks her comeback to Malayalam cinema. The makers of DNA have released a poster carrying the release date of the film. It would hit theatres on June 14, as a Bakrid release.

The film stars Raai Laxmi as IPS Rachel Punnoose in her comeback role in Malayalam cinema after 2018's Oru Kuttanadan Blog. It is not the first time she plays an IPS officer; she essayed a similar character in Aaru Sundarimaarude Katha. TS Suresh Babu directed the film from a screenplay by AK Santhosh. TS Suresh Babu is best known for directing films such as Kottayam Kunjachan (1990), Kizhakkan Pathros (1992), and Prayikkara Papan (1995).

The film also stars Babu Antony, Hannah Reji Koshy, Aju Varghese, Ranji Panicker, Irshad, Ineya, Swasika, Salima, Seetha, Shivani, Anjali Ameer, Riyaz Khan, Idavela Babu, Sudheer, Kottayam Nazeer, Padmaraj Ratheesh, Senthil Krishna, Kailash and Kunchan, among others. Billed as an investigative thriller, the film has cinematography by Ravichandran, editing by John Kutty, art direction by Shyam Karthikeyan, lyrics by actor Sukanya, music by Sharreth, and background score by Prakash Alex.
