Biju Menon-Asif Ali starrer Thalavan gets a release date

Earlier, we reported that Biju Menon and Asif Ali are starring in a film titled Thalavan, directed by Jis Joy. Now, the makers have set a release date for the film. It will release on May 24 in theatres worldwide.

Thalavan brings Biju Menon and Asif Ali back together after 2019's Mera Naam Shaji. In CE's recent interview with Jis Joy, the filmmaker described Thalavan as "an investigative story, which also explores how hierarchy works within a police station."

Biju Menon is working for the first time with Jis Joy, but Asif Ali has collaborated with the filmmaker on Bicycle Thieves, Sunday Holiday, Vijay Superum Pournamiyum and Innale Vare.

Thalavan also stars Dileesh Pothan, Anusree, Miya George, Shankar Ramakrishnan, Ranjith, Kottayam Nazeer, Jaffer Idukki, and so on. It is written by Anand Thevarkatt and Sarath Perumbavoor, as well as produced by Arun Narayan and Bijo Sebastian. On the technical front, it has background score and music by Deepak Dev, cinematography by Sharan Velayudhan, and editing by Sooraj ES.

Biju Menon's upcoming films also include Nadanna Sambavam, while Asif Ali is part of an untitled project with Suraj Venjaramoodu that marks the directorial debut of Nahas Nazar.
