Soubin Shahir reunites with Sudani From Nigeria director Zakariya

Six years after the award-winning film Sudani From Nigeria, director Zakariya Mohammed and Soubin Shahir are set for a reunion. The filmmaker made the official announcement through social media on Saturday. More details regarding the team members and when shoot commences are expected to be out soon.

Zakariya made his directorial debut with Sudani From Nigeria, which was both a critical and commercial success. The film won five awards at the 2018 Kerala State Film Awards, including Best Film with Popular Appeal and Aesthetic Value, Best Debut Director, and Best Actor. At the 2018 National Film Awards, it won the award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam.

Zakariya followed it up with Halal Love Story, which was released directly on Amazon Prime Video. Notably, Soubin did a cameo role in it. The actor, riding high on the monumental success of Manjummel Boys, which he also co-produced, is currently shooting for Pravinkoodu Shappu. Directed by debutant Sreeraj Sreenivasan, the film also stars Basil Joseph, Chemban Vinod Jose as the leads.

Soubin will also be seen in a prominent role in the upcoming Tovino Thomas-starrer Nadikar, directed by his Manjummel Boys co-star Jean Paul Lal. The film is targeting a May release.
