Aashiq Abu assembles a formidable cast and crew for Rifle Club

The film is scripted by Sharfu-Suhas, Dileesh Karunakaran and Syam Pushkaran

Last September, director Aashis Abu had announced his new film Rifle Club with Dileesh Pothan and Soubin Shahir as the leads. Suhas, Sharfu and Dileesh Karunakaran were attached to it as the writers. The project has now undergone a few changes with Vishnu Agasthya replacing Soubin and Syam Pushkaran also joining the writing team. Vishu is known for his roles in RDX, O.Baby and 1001 Nunakal.

Rifle Club marks the Malayalam acting debut of ace Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. He is reportedly playing a negative role in it. Vani Viswanath, Vijayaraghavan, Vincy Aloshious, Ramzan Muhammed, Surabhi Lakshmi, and Unnimaya Prasad are some of the others in the cast. The film also a strong technical crew comprising music director Rex Vijayan, veteran editor V Saajan, production designer Ajayan Chalissery, makeup artist Ronex Xavier and costume designer Mashar Hamsa. Aashiq Abu is also doubling up as the film's cinematographer, marking his second such outing after the yet-to-be-released Mathew Thomas-starrer Lovely.

Rifle Club, produced by Aashiq Abu's OPM Cinemas in association with TRU Stories Entertainment, is eyeing Onam release this year.
