The long-delayed film Gaganachari will be released theatrically on June 21, as announced by the makers, accompanied by a video featuring glimpses from the film. It is directed by Arun Chandu, known for helming Saajan Bakery Since 1962 (2021) and Sayanna Varthakal (2022).

Gaganachari, jointly scripted by Arun and debutant Siva Sai, stars Anarkali Marikar, Gokul Suresh, Aju Varghese and Ganesh Kumar in the lead roles. This dystopian science fiction mockumentary was shot in Kochi during the lockdown period, complying with COVID protocols. Selected by nine international film festivals, the film had an exclusive premiere earlier this year in Kochi, where it received critical acclaim.

An excerpt from the CE review of the film read, "Gaganachari is a film that fits comfortably in this age of artificial intelligence and AI-rendered images. The makers use the limited settings and budget constraints to their advantage, with the competent hands of cinematographer Surjith S Pai, editors Ceejay Achu and Aravind Manmadhan and composer Sankar Sharma chipping in to provide a one-of-a-kind experience."

Bankrolled by Ajith Vinayaka Films, Gaganachari has cinematography by Surjith S Pai, editing by Ceejay Achu, and music by Sankar Sharma. Aravind Manmadhan is the co-editor. Recently, the National Award-winning filmmaker Krishand stepped in as the executive producer of the film.
