We had earlier reported that DNA will hit the screens on June 14, on the occasion of Bakrid. The makers have now unveiled the trailer of the film, directed by veteran filmmaker TS Suresh Babu, who is best known for helming films like Kottayam Kunjachan (1990), Kizhakkan Pathrose (1992), and Uppukandam Brothers (1993).

DNA, scripted by A K Santhosh, features actor Mammootty’s nephew Ashkar Saudan in the lead role. The film also marks the return of Raai Laxmi in Malayalam cinema after more than five years. The trailer begins with her character, IPS Rachel Punnoose, being questioned by her superior about the three brutal murders that occurred in the city under her vigil.

The film also stars Babu Antony, Riyaz Khan, Aju Varghese, Renji Panicker, Irshad Ali, Raveendran, Hannah Reji Koshy, Ineya, Gowri Nanda, Swasika, Saleema, Seetha, Shivani, Anjali Ameer, Idavela Babu, Sudheer Sukumaran, Kottayam Nazeer, Padmaraj Ratheesh, Senthil Krishna, Kailash, Kunchan, Raja Sahib, Majeed, Badusha, John Kaippallil, Ranju Chalakudy, Rahul, Sajna, Ravi Venkataraman, and Sivan Sreenivasan, among others.

Billed as an investigative thriller laced with action, DNA has cinematography by Ravi Chandran, editing by John Kutty, and music by Sharreth. KV Abdul Nazar has produced the film under the banner of Benzy Productions, which is also backing Navya Nair and Soubin Shahir's newly launched film Pathirathri, directed by Puzhu-fame Ratheena.
