The makers of the upcoming film Thaanara unveiled its first song through Mammootty’s social media pages. Titled Thaanara, it is a playful track sung by Rimi Tomy, KS Harishankar, Anwar Sadath, and Rajath Raveendran. The Gopi Sundar composition has lyrics by BK Harinarayanan. Haridas directed the film from a screenplay by veteran scenarist Raffi.

The film stars Vishnu Unnikrishnan, Shine Tom Chacko, Aju Varghese, Deepti Sati, Chinnu Chandni, Jibu Jacob, and Sneha Babu in pivotal roles. It is billed as a complete comedy entertainer.

Haridas is best known as the director of the 1990s films such as Georgootty C/O Georgootty, Oottyppattanam, Kinnaripuzhayoram, and Indraprastham. Most recently, he directed Perfume: Her Fragrance, starring Kaniha, Praveena, Prathap Pothen, and Tini Tom. On the other hand, Raffi last worked as a scenarist for Once Upon a Time in Kochi, also starring Shine Tom Chacko.

On the technical front, Thaanara also has cinematography by Vishnu Narayanan and editing by V Saajan. The film is produced by Biju V Mathai through the banner One Day Films. It is slated for an August 9 release in theatres worldwide.
