The makers of Indrans and Murali Gopy's Kanakarajyam unveiled a teaser, ahead of its release on July 5. The teaser showcases a tender moment where Indrans' character advises Venu (Murali) to speak kindly to his wife, played by Leona Lishoy, on the phone rather than becoming irritated. The film is written and directed by Sagar, known for helming Sathyam Mathrame Bodhippikku (2022) and Veekam (2022).

Kanakarajyam also features Sreejith Ravi, Dinesh Prabhakar, Kottayam Ramesh, Rajesh Sharma, Unni Raj, Achuthanandan, James Eliya, Harish Pengan, Remya Suresh, Saina Krishna, Sreevidya Mullassery, and Athira Patel in prominent roles. According to the makers, the film is a family drama based on a real incident that happened in Alappuzha a few years ago. Its technical crew comprises cinematographer Abhilash Shankar, editor Ajeesh and music director Arun Muraleedharan.

Kanakarajyam is produced by Ajith Vinayaka under the banner of Ajith Vinayaka Films. They previously backed Arun Chandu's science-fiction mockumentary Gaganachari. The film, set in a dystopian Kerala, has Gokul Suresh, Aju Varghese, Anarkali Marikar and K B Ganesh Kumar in the lead roles.
