The filming of actor Rajesh Madhavan’s debut directorial, titled Pennum Porattum, was inaugurated in Kollemcode earlier this Saturday. Full of newcomers, Pennum Porattum is a semi-fantasy film based on a story by Bheeshma Parvam co-writer Ravisankar. It is produced by Santhosh T. Kuruvilla, Sherin Rachel Santhosh, and Binu George under the banner of STK Frames. Rajesh and Ravisankar earlier collaborated on Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval’s satire Nna Thaan Case Kodu, starring Kunchacko Boban and Gayathrie Shankar.

For the uninitiated, Rajesh started his career in Malayalam as an assistant director for Dileesh Pothan's Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum. While he is known for his comic roles, he also played the more serious role of a hitman with a funny bone in last year's Suraj Venjaramoodu-starrer Madanolsavam. On the acting front, Rajesh last featured in Arun D. Jose’s coming-of-age drama Journey of Love 18+
