Actor-director-producer Dileesh Pothan has confirmed that his long-time collaborator Syam Pushkaran is writing a screenplay for the next film he plans to direct. Pothan was speaking to the media during the promotions of his upcoming film Premalu, where he is one of the co-producers, alongside Fahadh Faasil and Syam Pushkaran. However, he didn't share anything about who will star in it and what the film is about. 

Pushkaran is best known for his collaborations with Pothan on the movies Maheshinte Prathikaaram, Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum, and Joji. He has yet to write a script for a feature-length film since the 2022 thriller Thankam. On the other hand, Pothan is yet to direct a film since the 2021 Fahadh Faasil-starrer Joji.
