Sree Gokulam Movies, headed by Gokulan Gopalan, has taken up actor-politician Suresh Gopi's long-delayed 250th film, tentatively titled SG 250. The production house made the announcement on Saturday through social media, issuing a casting call. V C Praveen and Baiju Gopalan will co-produce the film, while Krishnamoorthy will serve as the executive producer.

SG 250, originally titled Ottakomban, was earlier bankrolled by Tomichan Mulakuppadam under the banner of Mulakuppadam Films. The film, directed by Mathews Thomas Plammoottil, faced several hurdles, including a production halt due to the pandemic and a plagiarism case filed against the script by Jinu Abraham, the the writer of Kaduva (2022). Sources close to SG 250 reveal that Sree Gokulam Movies is reviving the same project, with Mathews retained as the director.

Meanwhile, Suresh, who took charge as the Minister of State for Tourism and Petroleum and Natural Gas this year, has several upcoming projects lined up. The actor-turned-politician's upcoming slate includes Pravin Narayanan's JSK and Sanal V Devan's Varaaham. In addition, he has a project with Mammootty Kampany, Arun Chandu's spin-off to Gaganachari titled Maniyan Chittappan, and two other projects with Sree Gokulam Movies in the pipeline.
