The upcoming Bhavana-starrer Hunt will now be released on August 23, announced the makers on Sunday. The long-delayed film was previously scheduled for release on August 9. It is directed by veteran filmmaker Shaji Kailas and scripted by Nikhil Anand, who earlier penned Matchbox (2017), starring Roshan Mathew in the lead.

Billed as a horror film set against a medical backdrop, Hunt also features Renji Panicker, Chandhunadh, Anu Mohan, Dain Davis, Aditi Ravi, G Suresh Kumar, Ajmal Ameer, Rahul Madhav, Binu Pappan, Nandhu and Vijayakumar, among others. The film's core technical team includes composer Kailas Menon, cinematographer Jackson Johnson and editor Akhil AR. It is produced by K Radhakrishnan under the banner of Jayalakshmi Films.

Earlier, Bhavana collaborated with Shaji on Chinthamani Kolacase (2006), a murder mystery headlined by Suresh Gopi, where she played the titular role. The actor was last seen in Lal Jr's Nadikar, opposite Tovino Thomas.
