Wayanad Tragedy: Mammootty, Dulquer Salmaan, Fahadh Faasil and Nazriya Nazim donate to CMDRF

While Mammootty and Dulquer Salmaan collectively donated Rs 35 lakh, Fahadh Faasil and Nazriya Nazim together donated Rs 25 lakh

Actors Mammootty and his son, Dulquer Salmaan, have donated Rs 35 lakh to the Kerala Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) to aid in the rehabilitation of those affected by the Wayanad landslide tragedy, which claimed over 250 lives. While speaking to the media, the veteran actor conveyed his readiness to contribute more if necessary. He stated, "At present, I have only made a modest contribution towards the relief efforts. I will contribute more if the need arises. These are people just like us, and they need our help. Their lives have been drastically altered in a matter of two days, so it is our responsibility to assist them now." Of the total donation, Mammootty contributed Rs 20 lakh, with Dulquer adding Rs 15 lakh. Many other celebrities are also stepping forward to provide financial assistance.

Actor-producer couple Fahadh Faasil and Nazriya Nazim have also made a donation of Rs 25 lakh to the CMDRF. In their statement, they expressed, "We write to you with heavy hearts for the people of Wayanad. The ongoing efforts of our government, alongside volunteers, rescue teams, and organisations involved in providing aid and support to the affected communities, have been commendable. The dedication and resilience of our people have been truly inspiring, and we feel compelled to extend our support during this challenging time. To aid in the relief and rehabilitation efforts, we are making a donation of Rs 25 lakh to the CMDRF. We hope this modest contribution will help provide necessary assistance to those in dire need. Our thoughts and prayers are with our people as we navigate through this difficult period. Together, may we endure and overcome."

Earlier, actors such as Vikram, Suriya, Jyotika, Karthi, and Rashmika Mandanna had made significant contributions to the CMDRF.
