We had earlier reported about Shane Nigam signing a new film titled Haal, to be directed by Prasanth Vijayakumar. Pakistani singer Atif Aslam recently recorded a song for this film, which has music composed by debutant Nandhagopan V. As per our sources, it is a soulful melody which was recorded abroad earlier this month.

Atif, best known for his work in Bollywood, is making his South Indian debut with this film. It is also one of the first few projects that he's doing after the lifting of ban on Pakistani artists performing in India.

Haal is directed by Prashanth Vijayakumar. It is scripted by Nishad Koya, who has penned films like Ordinary (2012) and Shikkari Shambhu (2018). The upcoming film, a romantic musical entertainer, is set to start rolling on May 5 in Kozhikode. Vaidhya Sakshi, who previously worked in Telugu films like Agent (2023) and the upcoming Pawan Kalyan-starrer Ustaad Bhagat Singh, plays the female lead.

Backed by JVJ Productions, Haal is planned to be released simultaneously in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada, along with Malayalam. Its technical crew includes cinematographer Karthik Muthukumar and editor Sreejith Sarang.
