Earlier, we reported that Althaf Salim and Anarkali Marikar are starring in a film called Mandakini from first-time director Vinod Leela. The makers of Mandakini have now announced the release date of the film. It will hit theatres on May 24 this year. Vinod is also the writer of the film, and Sanju Unnithan is its producer.

Touted as a comedy entertainer, the film features Anarkali and Althaf as a married couple. It also stars Lal Jose, Jude Anthany Joseph, Ajai Vasudev, and Jeo Baby in prominent roles. Ganapathi, Saritha Kukku,  Jaffer Idukki, Ashwathy Sreekanth, and Vineeth Thattil round out the cast.

The film has cinematography by Shiju M Bhaskar, editing by Sheril, and music by Bibin Ashok.

On related news, Althaf is shooting for his second directorial film Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira, which stars Fahadh Faasil in the lead role. He made his directorial debut with Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela, starring Nivin Pauly. On the other hand, Anarkali is gearing up for the release of her next film Gaganachari, from director Arun Chandu, opposite Aju Varghese and Gokul Suresh.
