Meena to headline new Malayalam film

Meena, last seen in Malayalam in Bro Daddy, is headlining a new film directed by Jaya Jose Raj, who won the Kerala State Television Awards in 2016 for Best Director for his documentary, Khalasis of Malabar: Men Who Move Mountains. Sathya Kumar P is producing the upcoming film under the banner, of Neil Productions India Pvt Ltd.

Sharing her excitement in being part of the project, Meena wrote on social media, "Lights, camera, and a world of emotions waiting to be explored. Ready to dive into another memorable role, and I couldn't be more excited."

Jaya Jose Raj, a former assistant to Rosshan Andrrews, had earlier directed the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi award-winning play Section 302 Murder. The director's feature film debut, Idam (Abode), starring Seema Biswas and Hareesh Peradi, had its world premiere at the New York International Film Festival. The film, which was also selected in the competition section of Washington DC, South Asian Film Festival and New Jersey Indian and International Film Festival, discussed the life of a 70-year-old widow, who, living alone, battles anxiety, fear and hallucinations about death.

Meanwhile, Meena has the Tamil film, Rowdy Baby coming up. Directed by JM Raja Saravanan, it also stars Hansika Motwani, Sonia Agarwal, Satyaraj, Ramki, Raai Laxmi, and John Kokken in pivotal roles.
