Mammoootty and Amal Neerad, who earlier worked together in Big B and Bheeshma Parvam, are reportedly planning for a reunion. It is said that the announcement of their new film will be made on Mammootty's birthday, which falls on September 7.

Earlier in November 2017, it was announced that Mammootty and Amal would be teaming up for Bilal, the sequel to Big B. Though the makers had planned to begin its production in March 2020, they had to stall work due to the pandemic and the subsequent lockdown. As of now, the much-hyped project remains shelved. It is not sure if their speculated new film is indeed Bilal.

Meanwhile, Mammootty has Jeo Baby's Kaathal and Roby Varghese Raj's directorial debut, Kannur Squad getting ready for release. He is currently shooting for Bramayugam, directed by Bhoothakaalam-fame Rahul Sadasivan.

Amal Neerad, on the other hand, is planning another film with Kunchacko Boban.
