Vaathil, an upcoming Malayalam film starring Vinay Forrt in the lead role, will hit the theatres on September 8. The film was earlier scheduled to hit the theatres on August 31. 

Directed by Sarju Remakanth, the upcoming is billed as a psychological thriller and stars Anu Sithara, Krishna Shankar and Merin Philip in pivotal roles, along with Vinay Forrt. 

Vaathil, also starring Anjali Nair, Sunil Sugatha, Unniraja, VK Baiju, and Sminu Sijo, is scripted by Shamnad Shabeer. Manesh Madhavan, who won the recent Kerala State Film Award for his work in Ela Veezha Poonchira, serves as the cinematographer for the upcoming film. 

Composer Sejo John and editor Johnkutty are also part of the technical team. The film is produced by Suji K Govindraj under the banner of Spark Pictures.
