Kannur Squad, the recently released Malayalam film starring Mammootty in the lead role, will be available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from November 17, the streaming platform announced.

The investigative thriller, directed by Roby Varghese Raj, is inspired by the real story of a group of policemen called the Kannur Squad, who were entrusted with solving challenging cases. The film has largely met with positive response.

“Kannur Squad works much better as a story of resilient police officers than an 'action movie'. Of course, there is a fair amount of action in it -- it wouldn't be as interesting otherwise -- but if you go in expecting novelty in the spectacle department, you are likely to feel a slight disappointment, as I did,” CE review of the film reads.

Kannur Squad has its story by Muhammed Shafi, who has also co-written the screenplay with Rony David Raj. The latter is also part of the cast, which includes Kishore, Shabareesh Varma and Azeez Nedumangad and Vijayaraghavan in key roles.
