Ashad Sivaraman, a popular ophthalmologist, is making his feature directorial debut with Laika, which is set to hit screens on March 31. It stars Uppum Mulakum actors Biju Sopanam, Nisha Sarang and a dog in key roles. Alencier Ley voice-acted for the dog in the film. Veteran Tamil actor Nassar is also there in a prominent role.

Billed as a comedy entertainer, Laika is scripted by P Muraleedharan and Shyam Krishna. It has P Sukumar as the DOP and Vipin Mannoor as the editor. While  Satheesh Ramachandran and Gemini Unnikrishnan compose the songs, the background score is handled by Ronnie Raphael.

The cast of Laika also includes Sudheesh, Baiju Santhosh, Vijilesh, Nandana Varma, Noby Marcose, Praveena, Siby Thomas, Roshana Ann, Sethulekshmi, Aristo Suresh, Krishnan Balakrishnan, Padmanabhan Thambi, and Ajayan. It is produced by Dr Shamnad and Dr Renjith Mani under the banner of VPS & Sons Media.
