The makers of the forthcoming Malayalam film, Valatty, featuring 11 dogs and a rooster as the leads, announced the film would be released in theatres on May 5.

Written and directed by Devan, Valatty is bankrolled by Vijay Babu's production house Friday Film House. While announcing the release date, Vijay Babu wrote, "Let's get ready for the miracle experiment from Mollywood and witness the magic of our pets speaking their minds!"

The filmmaker and his team have been working on the project for over three years. It included adopting the dogs as puppies, rearing them, and training them. Earlier, the makers revealed that leading actors from Malayalam cinema have voice-acted for these animals, but they are yet to disclose their names.

Valatty has Vishnu Panicker as the cinematographer and Ayoob Khan as the editor. Music is composed by Varun Sunil.

Apart from Malayalam, the film is also planned to be released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada.
