Omar Lulu and the makers of Nalla Samayam can finally heave a sigh of relief as the case filed against them by the Excise department has been cancelled. The director informed the same through social media. He also added that the film's OTT release date will be announced officially on March 20.

Nalla Samayam, starring Irshad and a bunch of newcomers, was released in theatres on December 30. However, the film had to be withdrawn immediately after a case was registered against the makers for allegedly promoting the use of MDMA, a banned drug. The Kozhikode range of the Excise booked Omar and the film's producer under Abkari Act and Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

Omar recently announced his new film, Bad Boys. According to him, it will be a complete entertainer along the lines of his hit films, Happy Wedding and Chunkzz. The director had earlier commenced work on a film titled Powerstar with Babu Antony as the lead. Scripted by the late Dennis Joseph, it was announced originally as a big-scale action film. Though the team shot a few portions, its production got stalled halfway due to some reason. The project's current status remains unknown.
