It was only recently that the makers of Mammootty's upcoming film Kannur Squad wrapped up their Mumbai schedule. The team will next be heading to Wayanad, where a 10-day-long schedule has been planned. A brief leg of shoot in Ernakulam also remains before the team calls it a wrap.

Kannur Squad is a crime drama directed by cinematographer-turned-filmmaker Roby Varghese Raj. Mammootty reportedly plays the role of an ASI in the film. Shabareesh Varma, Azeez Nedumangad, Rony David Raj, Deepak Parambol, Sajin Cherukayil, and Gibin Gopinath also star in it.

Kannur Squad's story is by Muhammed Shafi, who shares screenplay credits with actor Rony David. The technical crew includes composer Sushin Shyam, editor Praveen Prabhakar, and cinematographer Muhammed Rahil. The film is produced by Mammootty Kampany.

Meanwhile, Mammootty's Christopher has started streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The actor's next to hit screens will be the Jeo Baby directorial Kaathal, which marks the comeback of Jyotika to Malayalam.
