As reported earlier, Nithin Renji Panicker, who made his directorial debut with Kasaba, is next helming a web series for Disney+Hotstar. Nithin is also scripting and producing the show, which has been titled Madhuvidhu. Its production commenced on Friday. 

As per reports, this upcoming series will be high on comedy. Suraj Venjaramoodu, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Grace Antony, Shwetha Menon, Niranjana Anoop, Kani Kusruti, Ammu Abhirami, Alphy Panjikaran, and Prashanth Alexander also star in it. Cinematographer Nikhil S Praveen and music director Ranjin Raj, who both were part of Nithin's last film Kaaval, have been retained in Madhuvidhu.

Meanwhile, Disney+Hotstar's maiden Malayalam series Kerala Crime Files will premiere on June 23. The investigative thriller, directed by Ahammed Khabeer, stars Aju Varghese and Lal as the lead.
