Kurukkan gets a U certificate; release date confirmed

Billed as a crime comedy, it is directed by Jayalal Divakaran

Vineeth Sreenivasan's next as a lead actor, Kurukkan has been censored with a U certificate, and with that the makers have confirmed July 27 as the release date. Directed by Jayalal Divakaran, the film is a crime-comedy in which Vineeth plays a cop. His father Sreenivasan and Shine Tom Chacko are essaying the other major roles.

Kurukkan marks the comeback of the former, who has been battling health issues lately. Shruthi Jayan, Sudheer Karamana, Malavika Menon, Ansiba Hassan, Gowri Nanda, Srikant Murali, Balaji Sharma and Azeez Nedumangad also star in the upcoming film. It is scripted by Manoj Ramsingh.

The film has cinematography by Jibu Jacob, music by Unni Elayaraja and edits handled by Ranjan Abraham. Maha Subair is producing it under the banner of Varnachithra.
