Minnal Murali enters the world of comic books

Weekend Blockbusters, the banner that produced Malayalam cinema's first superhero film Minnal Murali, has announced their collaboration with Amar Chithra Katha and Tinke Comic Studio to bring the character to the world of comic books. The announcement was made at the 2023 Comic-Con International, San Diego. The makers also hinted that more updates from the Minnal Murali universe are on the way.

Directed by Basil Joseph, Minnal Murali is a 2021-released rural-based entertainer that follows two locals, Murali and Shibu, who acquire superpowers after being struck by lightning. Arun Anirudhan and Justin Mathew scripted the film, which had Tovino Thomas as Murali and Guru Somasundaram as Shibu. The film premiered on Netflix and emerged as a huge success.
