Kunchacko Boban's Padmini got released on July 14 and has opened to decent reports. The light-hearted entertainer directed by Senna Hegde has met with largely favourable talks in social media. While it seemed to be on track for Kunchacko Boban's second successive hit after 2018Padmini's producer Suvin K Varkey has come out with some major accusations against the actor.

In a long social media post, Suvin recounted how the actor refused to promote the film despite taking home a remuneration of Rs 2.50 crores for 25 days of shoot. Though he mentioned that Padmini is a profitable affair because of the efficiency of the production team, director Senna, cinematographer Sreeraj and the entire crew who finished the film seven days ahead of its schedule, he accused Kunchacko Boban of not co-operating with the promotions and instead opting to 'chill with his friends in Europe.'

According to Suvin, 'the entire promotion plan and chart of the programs were rejected because the marketing consultant who was appointed by the actor's wife made a verdict watching the film's raw footage.' He also added that the same situation happened to the last 2-3 producers of Kunchacko Boban's films, along with pointing out how the actor would actively promote a film if he was involved in it as a co-producer.

Suvin ended the note by emphasising on the 'responsibility of the actors to market the product they get involved in'. "Out of the 200+ movies releasing in a year, you have to attract the audience to watch your movie. This is showbiz and your existence is based on the audience verdict. Don't take the viewers for granted. After all, the magic of cinema is that content always wins," concluded Suvin.

In a post script note, Suvin also took a sarcastic jibe at all his 'producer friends' who fought in the producer association in favour of Kunchacko Boban.
