Actor Girish Kulkarni lauds Malayalam Cinema

National award-winning actor Girish Kulkarni is part of the upcoming Malayalam film, Thankam, which stars Vineeth Sreenivasan and Biju Menon in the lead. 

The team is currently doing various rounds of promotion for the film, backed by Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothen, and Syam Pushkaran's Bhavana Studios.

In a now-viral snippet from one of these interviews, which was shared by actor-filmmaker Dileesh Pothen, we can see Girish Kulkarni praising Malayalam cinema. The actor said, "Among the various successful regional film industries, Malayalam cinema is the best. It is churning out films after films that tell very rooted stories, which are culturally very rich and have diversified characters." 

Thankam marks Girish Kulkarni's debut in Malayalam. The actor gained wide recognition through the Aamir Khan-starrer Dangal, and is known for his role in Anurag Kashyap's Ugly.  

Thankam also stars Vineeth Thattil and Aparna Balamurali. The technical crew of Thankam includes cinematographer Gautham Sankar, composer Bijibal and editor Kiran Das. The film is set to hit screens on January 26.
