Mammootty's upcoming film with cinematographer-turned-filmmaker Roby Varghese Raj went on floors recently in Pala. The star, who is also producing it under the banner Mammootty Kampany, joined the sets on New Year's Day. The team also had a brief cake cutting ceremony before kick-starting shoot.

The yet-to-be-titled film, billed as a thriller, has its story by Muhammed Shafi. He has also penned the screenplay along with actor Rony David Raj, who is also director Roby's brother. Music director Sushin Shyam, cinematographer Muhammed Rahil and editor Praveen Prabhakar comprise the film's core technical team.

Meanwhile, Mammootty has the B Unnikrishnan directorial Christopher and Lijo Jose Pellissery's Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam lined up for release.
