On Thursday, as Keralites celebrate Chathayam Day, the makers of the upcoming film Maharani released the first single, 'Chathayadina Paatu'. It is composed by Govind Vasanatha and penned by Anwar Ali. Kapil Kapilan, who recently won the Kerala State Award, has sung the track.

Chathayadinam is celebrated on the birthday of Narayana Guru, who fought against the caste system of the Hindu religion. Anwar Ali's lyrics capture the spirit of the occasion. Directed by G Marthandan, the film has Shine Tom Chacko and Roshan Mathew as the leads. It is scripted by Ratheesh Ravi, who earlier penned Ishq and Adi.

Earlier while speaking to us, Ratheesh had revealed that the film tries to convey how an apolitical society is born. Roshan and Shine Tom play brothers in the film, while Johny Antony plays their father. Nisha Sarang, Balu Varghese, Harisree Ashokan, Jaffer Idukki, Kailas, Aswath Lal, and Sminu Sijo also star in the film.
