The makers of the Malayalam film, Pookkaalam released the song, Pucham Parihasam. The rap song was written and performed by Sreeraj Rajan, who also acted in the film.

Pookkaalam stars Vijayaraghavan and KPAC Leela as the leads. Vijayaraghavan plays a 100-year-old role in the film. 

Written and directed by Ganesh Raj as his sophomore directorial after his directorial debut, Aanandam, in 2016. Pookkaalam was released on April 8 and opened to positive reviews. The CE review of the film reads as "Writer-director Ganesh Raj follows up his 2016 hit Aanandam with another feel-good entertainer that aims for the heart and succeeds". 

Pookkalam also features an ensemble of cast, including Vineeth Sreenivasan, Basil Joseph, Johny Antony, Arun Kurian, Annu Antony, Roshan Mathew, Abu Salim, Suhasini Mani Ratnam, Sarath Sabha, and Sarasa Balusserry. Honey Rose, Ranjini Haridas, and late actor Kochu Preman will also be seen making brief appearances.
